Lunch Menu

The Village of Tijeras Senior Center is served from 11:30AM to 1:00PM and meals must be reserved 24 hours in advance. Please call 505-286-4220 or 505-269-7518 for reservations. Located at 10 Tijeras, Tijeras NM 87059

 

Seniors age 60+ who are unable to cook for themselves, have no one else to cook for them and are unable to attend a meal site may be eligible to receive a home delivered meal on a donation basis. Dog and cat food can be delivered for those receiving home delivered meals on a monthly basis. Care Coordinators will conduct an eligibility assessment for this program. The Senior Center Manager is the point people for processing all Senior Center department matters with the Village of Tijeras. Eileen Gonzales

Senior Center Meal Site Assistant

Due to the pandemic, the Senior Center has closed down their building out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of our seniors. The Village Hall has started up a “Gran N Go Meal Site” at the center where seniors can pick up lunches Monday-Friday. The Senior Center Meal Site Assistant will assist Rita and Flori in distributing grab-and-go meals at the Senior Center.

Here are some free resources that provide comprehensive information on topics like financial support and in-home care options that are available in their area.

 

Right now, people are more isolated than normal, which adds another layer of complexity for those struggling with anxiety and depression. Social frameworks that usually exist to provide a supportive presence are greatly impacted, and COVID-19 related life changes and stresses are compounding, likely leading to or furthering mental health issues.
